Offer rules should be clear to everyone

Affiliate.txt is an open format where an advertiser publishes program rules once, while publishers, networks and anti-fraud services read the same current version.

How it works

The advertiser publishes rules on its own domain

The file does not replace a contract or affiliate platform. It gives every participant one public place to verify current terms and their change history.

01

Publish

The advertiser hosts a machine-readable file on its own domain and names the team responsible for the program.

02

Connect

Publishers, CPA networks and tools read offer status, traffic rules, contacts and current assets.

03

Verify

When a rule changes or a dispute arises, all sides refer to a specific public version and date.

For the whole market

One version of the rules for every participant

The format is for publishers, advertisers, affiliate managers and anti-fraud teams, regardless of which network they use.

Publisher

Sees current terms, allowed sources, contacts and changes before sending traffic.

Advertiser

Updates rules once and receives a more transparent, predictable affiliate channel.

Affiliate manager

Onboards partners faster and spends less time repeating the same updates.

Anti-fraud team

Checks an event against the rules that were actually in force at that time.

Affiliate.txt does not replace CPA networks — it gives them a common format for offer rules

Why now

Rules change faster than they reach partners

The same offer is described differently across several CPA networks. One misses a new brand-bidding restriction, another keeps an outdated creative, and a third has no clear contact for evidence.

Affiliate.txt makes the source verifiable: who owns the program, which sources are allowed, what is prohibited, when the rules changed and how to appeal a decision.
